RogueCon is structured around a packed 3-day schedule ending with a party Sunday night (Buccaneers Bash). Gaming tournaments and activities are structured with 3 rounds of gaming on Friday and Saturday, two rounds of gaming on Sunday. Panels, Presentations, Contests and other activities are structured in the same time frames.
Activities for RogueCon 2010:
Paper Monsters!
We are focusing on the following types of table-top style games: RPG, Miniature, Board, Card, LARP and Meta-Game Interactives. If it is a game and not on a computer, this is the place for it!
Digital Demons!
24 hour weekend long LAN Party! LAN and Console gaming until your eyes fall out! Bring your own system to participate in the Wasatch front's premier convention LAN party!
Open vs Scheduled Gaming
All game areas include Open Gaming and Scheduled Events. Open Gaming is as space is available, scheduled ad-hoc
at the convention (also known as "pickup games"). Scheduled Events are on our game schedule, and we use a simple
ticket system to make sure those who know what games they want to play in can register for them ahead of time and
be guaranteed a seat. This also helps us anticipate demand and be able to expand areas as necessary.
Game Library
We have a large library of board games available to be checked out and played if you have a spare moment between the other activities!
Programming (Panels)
If the demand is there, we can support programming space for panels. TBD.
Contests -- Cosplay, Painting
We will have on-site contests for cosplay, miniature painting and more!
Swag Cavern (Exhibitor Hall)
The Swag Cavern is where you can pickup the latest supplements. Come ready to browse from the selection of Dealers!
Buccaneers Bash
The end of Convention party featuring Drinks, Snacks, DDR and Rock Band tournaments!

Event Tickets
The reason we are using Event Tickets is to help us better understand where the demand is at -- what does everybody enjoy doing; and to be able to give somebody focused access to just one event, if they do not wish to attend the entire weekend. It also reduces paperwork--you no longer have to fill out sheets for every table you visit, since your information is already on the ticket. This is something commonly used at larger conventions, and we are bringing it to Utah on a simple and small scale.
How tickets work:
Two types of tickets: Named and Generic. Named tickets are named to a specific event and slot. Named ticket holders are given priority over generic tickets, in the case of an event with limited seating.
Tickets are named to the person, and the ticket name must match the badge name. Tickets may be transferred at Registration to a different person, unless they are Captain's pass tickets.
To use a ticket you must have at least a Swabbers pass.
Tickets purchased individually may be used in any slot, at any event they qualify for.
Some events may have an extra cost requirement. In this case, a Captain's pass ticket may be upgraded to the event ticket by paying the difference in cost. This cost requirement is only for special cases, such as an event that has a large prize reward or an event that requires an up-front investment (such as a sealed deck tournament).
There is no difference in ticket cost for pre-registration or at the con registration.
